You will join the Data Management and Data Science team at AcegasApsAmga S.p.A., where you will contribute to the development of Artificial Intelligence systems on cloud platforms (Databricks and AWS), working on real use cases in cross-functional project teams. With the support of a company tutor, you will take part in every phase of a project: from problem qualification and modelling to solution design, through to prototyping, evaluation, and release in a governed cloud environment.

You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies (LLMs, agentic architectures, context engineering) and with the practices of a regulated enterprise context, learning what it takes to bring an agent from the notebook to production.

What you will do

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze processes that are candidates for AI automation and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Design and develop Machine Learning models and LLM-based agents, contributing across all phases of the lifecycle, from prototyping to production deployment.
• Define evaluation metrics and build test suites to measure the quality of models and agents.
• Apply MLOps/LLMOps best practices (versioning, CI/CD, observability, guardrails, and security).
• Present results and progress to the team and project stakeholders, adapting language and level of detail to the audience.
• Write technical and functional documentation supporting the implemented solutions.

If this profile sounds like you, you’re in the right place

• Undergraduate or recent graduate in STEM disciplines (Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Statistics).
• Good knowledge of Python and the main data & ML libraries (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn).
• Knowledge of GenAI/LLMs: prompt and context engineering, tool use, RAG pipelines, and agent frameworks (e.g. LangGraph, Strands Agents).
• Familiarity with developing and integrating REST APIs.
• Experience, including in academic or personal settings, in end-to-end development: from data preparation to prototyping, evaluation, and release of a solution.
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS) and versioning tools (Git).
• Good communication and collaboration skills, in Italian and English.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS AI services (e.g. Amazon Bedrock) or AWS certifications.
• Knowledge of Docker and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform).
• Experience with the Databricks platform.
